About Mars Scuba

A better way to learn to dive — from Pittsburgh.

Mars Scuba opened in 2017 with one idea: dive shops should put divers first. Small classes, real instructor attention, transparent pricing, and gear we would actually trust on our own bodies. Whether you are taking your first breath underwater or moving toward technical depth, we will get you ready — not just certified.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Straight answers about training, forms, and what to expect when you dive with Mars Scuba. Still unsure? Email us — we would rather over-explain than leave you guessing.

How do I sign up for a class?

Start with a quick note to info@marsscuba.com or stop by the shop. We will confirm prerequisites, schedule pool and open-water dates, and point you to any digital forms. For some programs, registration also flows through our forms site — we will tell you exactly which link to use.

Do I need my own gear for Open Water?

We will walk you through what the course includes and what is smart to own first (mask, snorkel, boots are a common starting point). Rental gear is available for training where it makes sense, and our retail team can fit you without pressure.

Where do pool and open-water sessions happen?

Pool sessions use local aquatics partners; open-water weekends use quarries and sites we know well. You will get meeting times, maps, and a packing list before each session so you are never guessing where to be.

What about medical forms and liability waivers?

Your safety comes first. We follow agency standards for medical questionnaires and waivers. If you are not sure whether a “yes” on the medical form applies to you, we will help you get clarity before you get in the water.
